The Chron-O-John in the future does not have power.
The power cord should be attached to a power source.

The cord is too short

Find an extension cord for it, first.
There is an extension cord in the second floor, room R

Where do I plug the extended cord?

That window looks like the place. Put the extension cord into the window.

Where does the window lead to?

To the basement. Laverne can access the basement through the grandfather clock.

I am in the basement

You can now plug the cord into the generator outlet.
Now you just have to start the generator.
