How do I recharge Jessalyn's phone?

-- give a little shriek and wait for the black widow spider to go away. And then it's time to solve the puzzle you just pulled out, called "Coded Note" in Nancy's inventory. Read to the end of this hint to see how to solve this puzzle.

There are two pages to this puzzle. On the first page, you need to pick out one color among the colored letters on the page and see if you can find a way to spell out that color using any letters, starting at the upper left and ending at the bottom middle where the * is.

The only letters next to the * are U, O, and W, so our color word has to end in one of those letters.

That means YELLOW is our word. Move the arrow to the Y (go right and then up), then start looking for an E. Can you finish the word yourself?

The thing that makes this tricky is that you can't retrace your path. You can cross the same junction, but you can't go down the same path twice.

It's possible that there are other ways to do this, but here's how I did it:

On the second page of this puzzle, the goal is to follow just the yellow letters and see what you can make them spell out.

The same rule about not retracing your path applies here. This time, however, you have to use all the yellow letters, and you can ignore the other letters -- that is, if you cross over them they won't count or mess up the words you're writing.
