The Scientist is of extreme importance to Revenant in the Colony plot, so keeping him safe from them was Kate's prime concern. So you can expect his location to be very heavily guarded.

It all turns on deciphering Kate's copy of "Jabberwocky." To do that, you'll need to get Ned to get her original colored version of the poem from home, which will be a matter of calling him and then waiting for him to call you back.
