He's not hostile, he's ... well, terrified. He lost his wife just a few years ago, and now he's convinced he's about to lose his daughter in exactly the same way, and there's not a thing in the universe he can do about it. The only thing he can do is try to convince Nancy to come home -- which she's just not going to do, and he knows it. I don't blame him for yelling.
Of course, the more you learn about Revenant, the more you have to wonder if he's being manipulated into believing that the only thing that will save her is giving up and coming home ...
