There's a map in the wheelhouse on the counter behind the chair. This is a soundings map, and you won't know what to do with it until you open the desk in the captain's quarters --

What Magnus says is that this soundings map hides the combination to the lock in the wardrobe in his quarters.

How do I open the number wheel in the dresser?

Basically, you need to find two halves of something Magnus calls a locator and three numbers. Once you know the numbers, you can use the assembled locator on the soundings map to find two more numbers. These numbers will give you the combination to that lock.

Where can I find those numbers?

When you have the three numbers and both halves of the locator, go back to the wheelhouse and put the locator on the map. Read to the end of this hint for a picture showing the right location.

As Magnus said, the number you found in the crow's nest is the sum of the four numbers you'll find in the locator.

That sum is 86, and you know two of the numbers are 26 and 14.

So you want to find a spot on the map where the locator circles show four numbers: 14, 26, and two others that add up to 46.

Here's a half hint: the number in the middle circle of the locator is --
