This is a great little bar game -- you don't have to pay to play, and it gives you money for a good short-term memory. Can I have one?
Hint 2
It's pretty simple in the way it works. The first screen shows you a list of 30 English words and their Icelandic equivalents. Click on "Start Round," and then match the Icelandic and English words.
Hint 3
Each game has four rounds with four words each. If you get them all right, you get 600 kronur to spend at the Culture Center's gift shop. You can play this game as many times as you want to make money.
The trick here is that not a lot of us outlanders know a single word of Icelandic, and there are 30 words on that list. More, there are seven different lists that might pop up, so the list of possible words is pretty huge.
Hint 5
Some of the words are easy to figure out -- land = land, sitrona = lemon -- but some aren't. It's not easy to remember that hestur = horse or kongulo = spider.
Hint 6
If you're having trouble remembering the words, you might consider taking a photo of the vocab page with Nancy's cell phone, then consulting it for the hard part. (Or take a screenshot with your actual computer, whichever works for you.)
Hint 7
You don't have to play this game at all if you don't want, but it's a great way to earn money.
