Metropol does not live up to the advertisements. Still, we should make the most of this situation and talk to its residents.
Where can I find them?
Not here - this train station clearly doesn't see much use. Maybe the main city is busier?
How do I get there?
There's only one place you can go - through the doorways ahead to get outside.
Yikes!
That "Metromind" robot was a bit handsy, but there's not a lot we can do about it now. Shame about the energy sensor though.
Proceed to the left to enter the city properly, and keep your wits about you.
Who should I talk to?
When you first walked onto this street, a robot on the left called you over. You should go and see what he wants.
What does he have to say?
He offered to buy Crispin, but that's definitely not happening. Apparently you're going to have a hard time getting home, too.
"Who are you?" "What are you selling?" "Who is Metromind?" "I was robbed when I came off the train."
Leopold Steeplebuilt, version 7. No relation to Ever Faithful, apparently.
He barters, since it's not taxed by the Metromind, and has a box of goodies for you to ogle. Click them to find out what he wants in return.
The machine in charge of running all things Metropol ever since the Council shut down.
That was city rules, not a robbery - superstition is outlawed here, so the book was tossed into the Underworks.
What else does he have to say?
Asking the first set of questions will give you some more to ask. "I'm looking for my power core." "I'm looking for a big robot." "How do I get into the tower?"
It's probably being used in the Great Tower to keep the city powered - you could get it back if you won a court case, but the courthouse is locked.
He says that sounds like Scraper, one of Metromind's workers. He might be in the train tunnels, Great Tower, or literally anywhere else.
You don't - council members only. Metromind and Arbiter probably won't let you in.
Anything else?
Asking the second set of questions will give you even more to ask. "Are you sure you don't know Ever-Faithful?" "What are the Underworks?" "Tell me about Arbiter." "You don't believe in Humanism?" "Tell me about Clarity."
He's sure - his business is bartering, not building.
A large collection of junkyards, canals, factories, smelters and more, all underneath the streets. These days, it's mostly abandoned and full of trouble.
He's a member of the council, and used to run the courts until he quit and sent his clerk 'Clarity' down to the Underworks.
No, and believing in Humanism is forbidden in the city.
She was one of Arbiter's law clerks before apparently getting into a fight with a judge and being sent to the Underworks. She's probably still down there.
