These scoundrels often are less-than-legal.

And land in jail.

Maybe Otis, the prisoner, will join your crew.

He doesn't know about the Governor's kidnapping.

Why don't you tell him?

Maybe he would help you save her.

Ask him to join your crew.

But he can't join you until he breaks out of his cell.

Or until you break him out.

Could you dissolve the lock somehow?

You need something acidic.

What did the pirates in the SCUMM Bar say?

Grog can eat through most anything.

Including the lock.

Now, where could you get some grog?

Why in the SCUMM Bar, of course.

In the kitchen, to be precise.

You need to transport it somehow.

The mugs in the bar should do the trick.

But they melt fairly quickly.

Maybe you could transfer the grog from mug to mug.

Walk from the SCUMM Bar to the prison, pouring the grog from mug to mug when necessary. (If the grog melts a mug completely, go back to the SCUMM Bar, pick up more mugs, and try again.)

Now melt the lock on Otis's cell by pouring the grog on it.

Don't worry. He'll be on your crew.
