On the ghost ship, Guybrush is invisible to ghosts when he's wearing the head of the navigator's necklace.

Hint 2

He'll return back to normal when you exit the ship.

Hint 3

In the meantime, you can locate Guybrush on the screen by following his footprints.

They look like short, blue lines on the ship floor.
