I'm just glad these weren't used in regular puzzles!

What do I do?

Look at the fan - you'll notice your cursor lighting up and dimming repeatedly.

Hmm...

It's not telling you that the fan is a portal-friendly surface - it's not. The wall behind it is, though.

It won't work!

Timing is everything! If you're really struggling, just shoot the wall repeatedly and you're bound to get lucky.
No matter which fan you picked, you'll end up in a room filled with acid.

What do we have here?

You can get a better look at the room by portaling up to the fenced-off area on the opposite side. Tragically, the door you'll find there is locked.

What do I do?

There seems to be an office on the other side of the glass - and the walkway on the other side of the room connects to it. Try getting onto the walkway.

Help me out.

Place a portal on the wall above the walkway. It may take a few attempts, but you should be able to drop down onto it with a portal in a similar position to mine.

What now?

The office is full of quirky trivia, but doesn't seem to go anywhere. Try exploring the other end of the walkway.

There's nothing here!

It's extremely easy to miss red scribbles on a brown wall, but a doodle on the wall at the bottom of the stairs prompts you to look up.

If you do, you'll see a walkway and some portal-friendly surfaces to help you continue the escape.

Hmm...

There are actually two broken walkways above you.
One can only be reached with a bit of momentum, though.
Do the 'portal on the wall, portal below your feet' trick to build some momentum and reach the other walkway.

Here, at the top of some stairs, you'll find a vacuum tube. Hop in!
